- You’re an artist and need to claim access to your own profile
- You’re the artist and want to grant access to someone else on your team

Claiming Control of Your Spotify for Artists Profile
If your music is already live on Spotify, then your artist profile exists — but that doesn’t mean you have access to manage it. Here’s how to take control:
Step 1: Make Sure Your Music Is Live
Spotify won’t let you claim an artist profile that doesn’t exist yet. So if you haven’t distributed any music yet, stop here. Once your first release is live, you can proceed.
Step 2: Go to the Claim Page
Head to artists.spotify.com/claim
. Choose “Artist or Manager” as your role.
Step 3: Find Your Artist Profile
Search for your artist name or paste your Spotify Artist URI (you can find this by right-clicking your artist name on Spotify Desktop > Share > Copy Spotify URI).
Step 4: Submit Verification Proof
Spotify asks for links to prove you are who you say you are. The email address you used to sign up for Spotify for Artists must appear publicly on one of these links:
- Your official website (e.g. in a contact section)
- Your Instagram profile or Facebook Page bio section
If the email you registered with doesn’t match the email visible on those links, your claim may be denied. Temporary solution: update your social bio or website to include the email address you used when signing up.
Step 5: Wait for Approval
Spotify manually reviews claim submissions. It can take a few days. Once approved, you’ll have full access to your Spotify for Artists dashboard, profile settings, Canvas, and analytics.
Fast-Track Claiming via Your Distributor
Some distributors offer built-in tools to simplify or fast-track this process. Here’s how a few of the most common ones work:
DistroKid
DistroKid includes a tool called the Spotify Looker-Upper. It allows you to search your artist name and automatically link to Spotify for Artists to claim your profile. Go to your DistroKid dashboard and look for the “Spotify for Artists” button. More info on that here.
TuneCore
If you’ve distributed music through TuneCore, you can start your claim from within your dashboard. It redirects you to Spotify for Artists and fills in some of the verification info automatically.
If your distributor doesn’t offer any of these tools, you’ll need to follow the manual steps above.
Granting Access to a Team Member
Once you have control of your Spotify for Artists profile, you can grant access to someone else — like a manager, marketer, label rep, or content team.
Here’s how to invite someone:
- Log into Spotify for Artists
- Click your profile icon in the top-right corner
- Select Teams
- Click Invite
- Enter the email of the person you want to invite
- Enter their title (e.g. Manager, Publicist, Marketer, etc.)
- Toggle Team Admin on or off depending on whether you want them to be able to invite others
- Click Next
- Choose their permission level: Admin, Editor, or Reader
- Click Invite
They will receive an email with the invite and can accept to gain access.
Access Levels:
- Admin – Full control, can edit profile and invite/remove users
- Editor – Can edit profile content, see data, but not manage users
- Reader – Can only view analytics
Only artists (or Admins) can invite someone. You can no longer request access to an artist profile and wait for approval. The invitation must be initiated by someone with Admin rights.
